The Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show is hosted by a volunteer board appointed by the city of Weyburn itself. Weyburn’s nickname is “the opportunity city,” for its substantial economic development opportunities – particularly in the oil industry. Recognizing the city’s potential, the towns committee formulated the Saskatchewan Show over 30 years ago in an effort to promote the economic value of the industry to the community. The focus of the show is to provide members of the oil and gas industry a place to unite and educate one another on the latest technology relevant to oil and gas.
